Rentokil North America Acquires Buffalo Exterminating Company

READING, Pa., March 3, 2015 — Rentokil North America, one of North America’s largest pest control companies, today announces it has acquired Buffalo Exterminating Company of Buffalo, NY. This latest addition to the Rentokil family of pest control companies strengthen Rentokil’s presence along Western and Central New York and include Buffalo’s brand presence in Rochester, NY as Rochester Exterminating. The acquisition was finalized Jan. 2, 2015.

Buffalo Exterminating, based in Orchard Park, NY, is a market leader for pest control services in Western New York.  It has served the region since 1954 and is in the top 100 of pest control companies in the U.S. by revenue.  The company has 53 pest control technicians among its 92 employees and four branch offices.   

Buffalo co-owner John Zimmerman will remain with Rentokil North America and facilitate the transition period between the companies.  They will begin co-branding with Rentokil’s primary brand along the East Coast, Ehrlich Pest Control, during 2015, eventually becoming completely Ehrlich-branded by the end of 2016.  Ehrlich currently has offices in both Buffalo and Rochester.

Cooler weather can cause many pests and wildlife to scurry indoors for warmth and food, particularly squirrels as they try to move indoors to have babies. While squirrels seem harmless enough, they can chew through loose roofing or foundations or slip through chimneys and other existing holes into your attic, chimney or crawlspace to nest. Once inside your home or business, they will shred insulation and gnaw on most anything including electrical wiring, causing significant damage to property and a hazard to people.
