Why ant colony organization matters for pest control
Most DIY treatments target the workers you can see, but they represent only a fraction of the colony. The queen and the bulk of the population stay safely in the nest, so surface sprays and store-bought traps rarely solve the problem for long. The colony simply sends out more workers.
Professional baiting systems work differently. Workers carry the bait back to the nest, where it's shared with the rest of the colony, disrupting reproduction at the source. If ants keep coming back despite repeated DIY attempts, it's a strong sign that the colony has not been eradicated at source.
Our ant control services start with a thorough inspection to find the nest(s) and recommend the right treatment. Carpenter ants and fire ants are also covered under PestFree365+, our residential pest management plan, for year-round protection.¹
