Termites are attracted to wood, so keep firewood at a distance from any structure. Mulch can provide a food source and lead termites right to a structure. Keep mulch pulled back away from the foundation. Moisture-damaged wood provides an easy target for termites. Repair leaky faucets, poor drainage, and excess condensation around air conditioners. Remove excess wood from your property, including construction materials, fallen trees, and stumps. In construction projects, always use treated wood.

Have a continuous termite monitoring, baiting, or protection plan in place.
