Ehrlich Pest Control's pop-up 'Pestaurant' events are held throughout the U.S., serving insect-infused dishes to the public for free to raise awareness about pests and celebrate Ehrlich's rich history in pest control.
Pestaurant is now an annual event and Ehrlich is right there serving up great food in the heart of some of the greatest cities in the United States. We serve up local fare, slightly modified, and provide donations to local charities in the process. It's fun and it's for a good cause in many ways.
The first event was held in 2014 in Washington D.C. and in 2015 the Pestaurant was held in historic downtown Boston. We also hold other pop-up events locally and you can always find information about the next event right here.

For 2015 Pestaurant was celebrated in the U.S. in downtown Boston, MA. Ehrlich created a pop-up Pestaurant right in Faneuil Hall Square where hundreds of hungry Bostonians stopped by to sample some of the food and compete in contests for great prizes. The even helped The Greater Boston Food Bank and the menu contained such tasty times as "Boston Clorm Chowda", mealworm fried rice, grasshopper turkey burgers and more.
The very first Pestaurant was held by Ehrlich Pest Control in the capital city of Washington D.C. Right there in the shadow of the White House and Washington Monument, at the Occidental Grill, more than 1,000 people showed up to try some of the food. The event was held June 4th, 2014, the very first Pestaurant day. Guests ranged from locals to politicians to members of the national media.
The aim of Pestaurant is to educate the public about pests, while celebrating Ehrlich’s rich heritage in pest control - 90 years of keeping the Eastern U.S. pest free. During the event, we will have experts from your local Ehrlich office on hand to offer free, valuable advice and top tips on how to avoid a pest infestation in your home and/or workplace as well as answer any of your pest related questions.
Aside from helping to raise pest awareness, Pestaurant aims to motivate participants to be more adventurous with their food as well as promoting the tremendous health benefits of an insect rich diet already enjoyed by billions across the world.
Entomophagy (eating insects) is encouraged and promoted by the United Nations as a viable source of food. Introducing insects into your diet provides you with high levels of protein, zinc and calcium. For example, did you know that a cricket can contain up to 25g of protein per 100g? Insects are also extremely low in fat and rich in vitamins.
