Termite Treatment Options

Understandably, people are very concerned when they discover they have a termite problem. Fortunately, termite control technology has made tremendous strides in recent years. By calling Ehrlich, you can be assured that your home will be serviced using the most modern materials and strategies available, and by a trained, experienced Termite Technician.

Termites are an extremely persistent and challenging pest. Homeowners should not attempt to resolve a termite problem on their own.

At Ehrlich, the first step to treating termites is a thorough inspection. Programs are tailored specifically for your home, your needs and preferences using either:

  • Monitoring/Baiting System featuring the Sentricon System.
  • An environmentally responsible, low impact approach to termite control.
  • Conventional Termite Treatment.
  • Applying material around the perimeter of your home to repel termites.

Conventional Treatment

For the past 65 years conventional termite treatment methods have involved the application of treatment materials at critical areas in and around the structure known from experience to be susceptible to termite infiltration. This creates “treatment zones” that negatively impact termites passing through the zone which they pass on to their nest mates. New, non-repellent termiticide technology continues to make use of conventional treatment materials such as Termidor and Phantom.

Monitoring and Baiting

The use of monitoring and baiting systems is a relatively new approach to termite control. With a termite monitoring and baiting service program, unobtrusive bait stations are placed around the perimeter of your home. Your Ehrlich Termite Technician will routinely monitor these stations for termite activity. Termites quickly locate the bait stations because of their natural foraging behavior, consume the bait, and share it with other nest mates causing changes that negatively impacts the colony and gradually reduces its size until it can no longer support itself and so collapses.
